Carol Boykin

Hometown:
Indianapolis, Indiana (13 Years)

Date of Birth: March 27, 1933 – Ft. Worth, Texas

Occupation: Retired Registered Nurse and Retired Outdoor Writer

Hobbies: Enjoying my daughter, son & pets; fishing with my roomie, Sue Parrish; hunting, gardening & cooking

Years Fishing: Since 1977

Tours I Fish: I have always been in the “Production” side of bass tours rather than on the “Angler” side. I did fish some Bass’n Gal Tournaments and the Top 4’s prior to the time I went to work for them, fished the WBFA Federation Top 4’s each year, fished the “Big Buck’s Bass” tour out of Ohio, now fish the “Got to Love It” Tour in Indiana, fish the W.I.S.H., Riley Children’s Hospital, and Hospice benefits in Indianapolis, and now, the Women’s Bassmaster Tour.

Sponsors: I am sponsored by the following Local, National and International businesses: Blackhawk Custom Outfitters, Killbuck Valley Sports (Premier Ranger Dealership), Outdoorsman Sport Shop, Precision Propeller, Inc, Seaton Tackle Solutions, Shimano, Watt-a-Copy Printing, and Waymire Trailer Towing Systems.

Career Highlights

I consider myself to be a very ordinary person. I have never “swept” the field like many of our anglers. However, I have always enjoyed my life and the many activities in which I have participated. I found satisfaction in nursing, Radiology business office procedures, tournament production details, writing, hunting and fishing. As I age, I can look back on a very happy life – filled with the love of my children and most people that I have come in contact with. I don’t feel as if I missed a thing. I do enjoy encouraging the young anglers that I come in contact with and renewing old friendships that I have missed in the past few years. My hopes, prayers, and dreams, after the demise of BNG, was that someone (ANYONE) with the money, time, and desires to do something for women’s fishing, and the industry, would step up to the plate and make this opportunity available to us. As I see it, BASS has opened the door for us, we just have to have the courage (and money) to step through it - and, I saw a LOT OF COURAGE at the WBT Inaugarel Event at Lake Lewisville, Texas. I’m Happy!
